Library Closed for Presidents’ Day

george-washington_editedjpgMonday, February 20 is a federal holiday and therefore the library is closed. (Tax preparation sessions are happening, however.) George Washington was born on February, 22, 1731, and served as the first President of the United States, from 1789 to 1797. (Presidents’ Day was originally celebrated as Washington’s Birthday.) Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809, and served as the 16th President of the United States, from 1861 to 1865. Interested in learning more about these or other former American presidents? Check out our biography section! We have two biographies of Washington and two of Lincoln, as well as a number of juvenile biographies.
