Noted architect and artist Harold Vandervoort Walsh died at age 95 at his retirement home in Richmond, Vermont, leaving behind a large collection of his artwork. His daughter Winifred Walsh Doane donated more than 125 pieces to the Community Senior Center, which will conduct a silent auction of the paintings on September 19-20, commemorating the artist’s September 20 birthdate.

Local artist Julie J. McGowan, a contemporary Hudson River School and Luminist oil painter, will present an overview of Harold Vandervoort Walsh’s career on the evening of September 19. Dr. McGowan has lectured on art and art history in the US and internationally.
