Iyengar Yoga at the Library

Sundays, 10-11:30 AM(Starts February 6)

Join Rebecca Weisman, Director of the Iyengar Yoga Center of Vermont, for a winter series of Iyengar Yoga at the Richmond Library. The Iyengar approach to yoga is a dynamic, systematic, and thoughtful method to understanding the workings of the body through foundational poses (asanas), breathing (pranayama), anatomy, and yoga philosophy. Whether you are a brand new student, a returning practitioner, or looking to deepen your knowledge of yoga, Iyengar Yoga is a perfect way to learn poses from the ground up through principles of alignment and intelligent movement. We will start with the basics and build from there, learning to work safely with injuries, limitations, and taking the time to understand each pose before moving on. We will use props creatively to build confidence and stability and to aid in opening the body and releasing tension.  Certified Iyengar teachers are highly trained and ready to assist you in a variety of modifications to help tailor your practice to your needs. Questions? Feel free to reach out— I’d love to chat! rebecca@iycvt.com

Advanced registration is required for the series or for a single class. Classes are offered sliding scale/by donation and all proceeds will go to benefit Our Community Cares Camp, a non-profit offering summer food service and enrichment camps for local youth. We request all participants be fully vaccinated and wear a mask during the class.
*Please note there will be no class on February 20th and 27th
