Richmond Residents

Individuals over the age of six (6) and living in the town of Richmond (with proof of residency) have free use of the Library and may register as patrons.
Individuals between the ages of six (6) and 11 must have parental/guardian guarantors and may borrow from the Richmond Free Library collection only.
Individuals between the ages of 12-17 will need to register for a “teen” membership. Teens may borrow from the Richmond Free Library collection only.
Adults (18+ years) may borrow from libraries on the Homecard system (reciprocating libraries).

Non-Residents

Non-residents who do not reside in a Homecard town may purchase a yearly membership at $50 per patron. Through June 30, 2025, Bolton residents may be reimbursed for this fee by submitting a receipt to their Town Clerk.

Use of the library or its services may be denied for just cause as indicated in policies.

Homecard System

The library participates in the Home Card System (see Homecard Library System brochure) a system of reciprocity with 25 other libraries. Nonresidents living in towns with libraries participating in the Home Card System and wishing to use RFL must apply for a library card in their town of residence.
